You could say fitness was ingrained in me from an early age
I was around 13 years of age when I first walked into a boxing gym. This was my first taste of consistent exercise and doing the reps needed to improve. I did this for around 3 years and got pretty good too winning my first 5 fights.
As with a lot of teenagers, I became distracted. I started chasing girls, smoking, drinking, and even taking drugs and gave up boxing altogether. This is one of my biggest regrets
A few years later I was hanging out with some friends, and we were having some banter. One of the lads turned around and called me ‘Bones Brother’. He was referencing how skinny I was!
I remember laughing at the time, but inside, I was mortified, I couldn't believe everyone saw me as the skinny kid
The next day I joined the gym and made it my mission to gain extra size and strength, and this would become my obsession for years to come.
During this time I gained weight and then cut fat every year, in doing so I came up with solutions to the problems guys face when trying to lose weight.
I learned losing weight doesn't t have to mean starving yourself, or spending hours on a treadmill,
It doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the things you love either
At the time of writing this, I am now a 40-year-old man, and my focus has shifted from gaining as much size as possible
My main focus now is getting the most out of life.
This means being fit, strong, energetic, and confident like I was in my 20s, and I believe all men can reclaim this feeling
